Its been over a month since I updated, and I had sworn I wouldn’t do that!

…I guess I was wrong.
Life sometimes gets busy. Life sometimes gets crazy. It leaves us feeling like we need to just survive each day, and make it by the skin of our teeth to the next.

I have been caught up in the “beginning of the school year”, “children having new school nerves”, “James is leaving (AGAIN)”, “ohshitweneedafence”, and all the normal day to day stuff. Mainly it has been getting the kids started and settled back into school routines, all of us getting our stride with the day to day.

Really its technically not hard, right? Our normal school week schedule goes as follows:
6:20am- James and Otto wake up.
6:30am- James gets his shower while Otto starts herding the kids for breakfast.
6:40am- James finishes getting ready for the day, and goes downstairs to finish supervising while Otto comes up and gets ready for work.
6:45am- I get up in the meantime and get myself together.
6:50am- James leaves for work.
7:10am- Boychild leaves to catch the bus.
7:20am- Eldest Boychild leaves for college classes.
7:40am- Girlchild leaves to catch her bus.
7:50am- Otto leaves for work.
8:00am- I begin my daily chores.
The afternoons are usually much more fluid, due to everyone having different schedules each day with afterschool activities and work running late, etc. The main constant is Boychilds homework that we jump on immediately when he gets home, so that its done.

I like organization. Lists make me happy.
But I am NOT good at lists and organization when it comes to myself! How strange is that?? My therapist (you bet your butt I go to a therapist!) has always suggested that I journal. Obviously this page is part of it for me, but I do believe she was referring to something more like writing in a paper journal. I tried. I kept trying. It just wasn’t doing it for me.
Then I stumbled across the idea of doing those little cutesy journal things. Where you make colorful lists to fill in, and idea quotes, and all of that fun stuff. I used to shrug it off.
…and then I found myself spending two hours looking up ideas and putting my (oh so sad) art skills to use in making a bunch of pages in my neglected journal book. Now I am set up for the next month, and feeling productive! Perhaps it will help me to stay on task when it comes to exercising and being mindful about myself. And also to keep on track with adding to this journal.

We have had a few adventures since I last wrote, and I know they will be fun to write out. I just need to sit down and do it. So. Until tomorrow! Where I shall write out some of our fun late summer adventures as a polycule!
